I think everyone should read Being Mortal by Atul Gawande.

It gave me an entirely new perspective on aging, medicine, and what truly matters near the end of life. It was insightful regarding my own mortality and helped me think more deeply about my parents as they age.

This book is thoughtful, compassionate, and important without feeling hopeless. I first listened to it on Audible, and I found it so worthwhile that I purchased several paperback copies to give as gifts. That’s how strongly I recommend it.

These are conversations most of us will eventually face—either for ourselves or for someone we love.
